In 2008, P22 type foundry commissioned Rimmer to create a new type design (Stern) that became the first-ever simultaneous release of a digital font and hand-set metal font. Rimmer’s mastery and skill made him one of only a few who possessed the skills needed to create a metal font. This film share’s Jim’s knowledge, processes and passion of typography with the world.

Linotype: The Film is a feature-length documentary centered around the Linotype typecasting machine. Called the "Eighth Wonder of the World" by Thomas Edison, it revolutionised printing and society. The film tells the surprisingly emotional story of the people connected to the Linotype and how it impacted the world.
